Dr Kai-Fu Lee, an artificial intelligence (AI) expert, believes that AI and mankind can co-exist. Deep learning of AI Technology can use big data to learn how to predict and decide at superhuman accuracy. Dr Lee said that “I have to make myself safe, right? Really, the creative jobs are the ones that are protected, because AI can optimise but not create”. He emphasised that “work ethic in the Industrial Age has brainwashed us into thinking that work is the reason we exist, that work defined the meaning of our lives”.
In the 19th century, public schools had the purpose of training students' skills to work for the industries and eventually education could serve the nations' economic prosperity. However, some argued that public education system produced the social structure that it divided people into two different types, they are academic (smart people) and non-academic (non-smart people). In this system, most people suffered and the notion of “fictitious epidemic of ADHD” was addressed. Even today, the education system seems to suppress students' aesthetic experiences….
We all have experienced the problematic situations no matter our roles are students, parents, employees, entrepreneurs, professionals or CEOs. What do we need to have when we deal with challenges? Some said: Knowledge. For sure yes, the existing knowledge could solve our problems but could not solve the problem we have not seen before.
